chilly outside. low 60's for you in kentfield. napa, you were the warm spot at 63. downtown san francisco, it got no warmer than 54 all day. a weak area of low pressure sliding by. showers are gone. once again, kpix 5 high deaf doppler is dry. low pressure off to our east, which is very strong. right in between the two, you get a pressure gradient. the stronger the gradient, the stronger the wind is. we have another windy day today. look where the winds are coming from. from the north. that's why it will be a chilly tonight. tomorrow it will still be breezy, and that low is close enough. we'll have winds 15, 20, 25 miles per hour, and it will be chilly. then on wednesday, things change significantly. the low is gone. the wind goes away. that will allow temperatures to climb into the 70's. by thursday, many of you will be back into the 80's and leveling off right around 80 degrees, away from the water. from thursday all the way through the weekend. but tomorrow will be chilly and breezy. concord, 67. san jose, 67 degrees.
clear. temperatures are chilly in spots. let's get you out there. 37degrees in the napa valley, 42 livermore, 43 san jose, 52, wind into fairfield. a wind advisory continues into the central valley through the carquinas strait. breezy for the bay area, not as windy as yesterday. you've got high pressure trying to build behind the low causing winds to kick up around the bay area. still temperatures are going to rebound, yesterday in the 50s and a few 60s this afternoon. we could see some upper 60s by the latter part of the day, and maybe some 70s and 80s in the not too distant future. let's check out the roads. >>> good morning. we'll start off with the bay bridge toll plaza, traffic is moving well into san francisco, wide open at the pay gates. san mateo, caltrans has a high wind advisory for 92 across the span, but no traffic delays yet, no road work. all lanes are available as you make that drive out of the east bay towards the peninsula. in the east bay, the dublin interchange, headlights are the westbound commute. still looking okay, more traffic out there making that early dri

for the next seven days. zero fog at the coast and golden gate. hayward 72 today. napa 72. concord and gilroy 71. san jose almost to 70. downtown san francisco up 5 degrees up to 65. nothing coming down from the sky. kpix 5 hi-def doppler is dry. there's a good reason for it because there's a really big area of high pressure building in. the difference between high pressure to our west and low pressure to our east has caused the wind but now as low pressure moves away that pressure gradient difference will get narrow and there will be a breeze tomorrow. that's it. wind not a problem after this evening. that high pressure dome is getting closer to us now and getting stronger going to expand its influence. what that means for you? more sunshine, less wind, much warmer temperatures. an offshore wind will begin tomorrow. it's going to stick around for 7 to 10 straight days. each day warm, each day sunny, each day with zero fog. and until i see something moving in this pattern we'll keep calling for mild weather. i don't see it changing for a while. tomorrow livermore 77 no wind. san jose 77, no w

in fairfield. 15 in livermore. and 12 miles per hour in the napa valley. gusts higher than that. that's helped to keep these temperatures well mixed and up a bit. 55 oakland, 53 in san jose. by the afternoon, warmer. yesterday not bad we topped out in the upper 60s inland but looks like this afternoon some 70s likely to pop up maybe some 80s in the coming days. we'll talk more about that in a moment. right now, let's check the roads with liza battalones. >>> slow traffic in the usual places, 580 going to be backed up along the altamont pass leaving grant line road and that's going to stay heavy in patches towards the pleasanton area. now, the bay bridge commute is crowded now, westbound traffic is backed up from about the 880 overcrossing. the metering lights are still off. not too far from here, along 880, all lanes are now open following the earlier stalled a.c. transit bus, again all northbound lanes of 880 are now open approaching oak street. san mateo bridge looking good. westbound traffic fine approaching the toll plaza. there are no problems as of yet for the commute all the way across
